WTF? Obama Picks Joe Biden as his Runningmate

Barack Obama picks Joe Biden as VP runningmate

It’s pretty clear. Obama has made the worst decision of his political career by picking Senator Joe Biden from Delaware to be his running mate.

Obama represents the paragon of change. He’s young, he has a fresh take on politics, and he’s ready to lead the country. So does Obama pick someone who mirrors those characteristics? No, he picks an old white guy who has been in the white house longer than McCain, and who has made comments like Barack Obama is “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, ” as well as “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” Keep in mind Joe Biden said these things on camera.

ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME? Why would anyone say that, yet alone a political figure who is always in the public eye? Biden clearly suffers from extreme case of diarrhea of the mouth.

I understand one of the reasons he picked Biden. He has a ton of experience dealing with foreign/international affairs, where as many of the other democratic nominees did not. But Biden is so old he is bound to have history, period. And with history, often comes mistakes: Biden ran for president in 1988, but was forced to quit when he was accused of plagiarizing a speech he made by British Labor Party leader Neil Kannock.

Hillary would have been the best choice in my opinion. I know she said some nasty things, but if Obama can get over Biden’s racial ignorance, why couldn’t he get over a few of her political jabs here and there?

Obama also mentioned that he wanted to pick someone who would “challenge” him. I think Hillary has shown that she’s not only opinionated (and hasn’t been afraid to express her opinions), but also that she’s a fighter. Despite all her cattiness, I think they would have made an excellent team…because out of all the democratic candidates, at the end of the day Hillary and Barack have one thing in common–passion. And that passion lies in the will to make a difference.

One more thing, if you’re just as frustrated as I am about this decision, i urge you to drop a quick line to the Obama campaign:

Picking Biden may have been the “smart” decision, but it was certainly not the best decision.
